Etta

Someone friendly calls Mom
every single day.

Etta phones your mom or dad each morning — a warm, unhurried check-in call to the phone they already have. No app for them to install, nothing to wear or charge. After each call, you get a little note: how they sounded, what they talked about — in their own words.

Etta is an AI companion — she says so on her very first call, and your parent can ask her to stop calling at any time.

Between your calls — never instead of them

☎️

The phone she already has

A landline or a flip phone works perfectly. Etta calls; your parent just answers. Nothing to install, learn, wear, or charge — the whole setup happens on your phone, not theirs.

💬

Her words, not a form

After each call you get a short recap with the lines that matter, quoted exactly as she said them — the tomatoes that finally came in, bridge night, the neighbor's new dog. Etta remembers it all for next time.

📈

Know when something's off

A gentle mood trendline over the past 30 days, and an alert if a call goes unanswered or something on a call deserves your attention. Quiet weeks stay quiet — Etta only taps you when it matters.

🕘

Her routine, her time zone

You pick the time, Etta keeps it — after morning coffee, before the afternoon nap, in their time zone, every day. Care+ adds a second evening call for a proper goodnight.

🤝

Built on permission

On the very first call, Etta introduces herself as an AI companion and asks your parent directly whether the daily calls are welcome. "Please stop calling" — said to Etta herself, at any time — stops them immediately.

🎙️

Your voice opens the call

Record a short greeting in your own voice and every call opens with someone they know — then Etta takes it from there. It's your care, delivered daily; Etta just does the dialing.

Questions, answered honestly

Does my mom need a smartphone or an app?

No — that's the whole point. Etta calls any regular phone in the US or Canada: a landline, a flip phone, an old smartphone, anything that rings. Your parent never installs, taps, or charges a thing. The app is for you — it's where the recaps, trends, and alerts arrive.

Will my parent actually want this?

That's exactly what the first call finds out. Etta introduces herself, explains that you set it up because you care, and asks directly whether a daily call would be welcome. If the answer is no, that's the end of it — no calls, no pressure. And if it's yes, your parent can still change their mind at any time just by telling Etta to stop.

Is Etta a real person?

No — Etta is an AI companion, and she never pretends otherwise. She says so plainly on the very first call, and every summary in the app is labeled as AI-generated. We think the honesty is what makes it work: a friendly voice that's reliably there every day, with no pretending.

What do I see after each call?

A little note within minutes: how they sounded, what they talked about, and the lines worth keeping — quoted in their own words. Over time you get a gentle 30-day mood trendline, and Etta flags things like a mention of dizziness or a missed call so you can follow up. You stay the one who knows; Etta's just the one who asks every day.

Is this a medical alert or emergency service?

No. Etta is not an emergency service and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or emergency response. She doesn't replace doctors, caregivers, or — most of all — you. If you believe someone is in danger, call your local emergency number. If you're weighing Etta against a medical-alert button, we wrote an honest comparison — including the cases where the button is the right answer.

How much does it cost?

The introduction call — where your parent says yes or no — is free. Care is $29.99/month: a friendly call every day, recaps, alerts, and 150 call minutes a month. Care+ is $49.99/month: morning and evening calls, 250 minutes, plus Ask Etta about how they're doing. Both plans start with 7 days free; subscriptions auto-renew monthly until canceled in your App Store settings, and canceling during the trial means you're never charged. Prices may vary by region.

Where does Etta work?

Etta currently calls phones in the US and Canada. You — the family member with the app — can be anywhere; plenty of children live an ocean away from the parent Etta calls each morning.

Is our family's data private?

Yes. Conversations are private and never sold — no ads, no cross-app tracking. Daily calls aren't audio-recorded; they're transcribed so Etta can talk and write your recap. The one exception is the first consent call, which is recorded as proof of your parent's "yes." Deleting your account erases everything. Details in our privacy policy.
